The first weekend of November 2021: Our visit to Carl G. Washburne State Park

We made plans several months ago to head down to a state park at the Oregon coast. We wanted something that was close to Eugene since both Christie and I and our friends Will and Colette had to work on Friday. It was supposed to rain the whole weekend, so we packed appropriate attire and headed out into what we expected to be driving rain on the way there. Fortunately, the skies were still and the wind was light though it was already dark when we left at about 4:30pm.

Friday night it rained lightly – we were up late hanging out with Will and Colette in their 32′ Fifth Wheel trailer enjoying the fireplace and talking with their dog “Piggy” laying on the floor next to us. She’s 17 years old and still relatively mobile but really showing her age. Will has to carry her up and down their stairs where she used to vault up them.
