How to play Golf
6-card variant · 2 rows of 3
Setup
- Shuffle the deck with jokers included.
- Deal 6 cards to each player, arranged face down in 2 rows of 3.
- Place the rest of the deck face down as the draw pile, and flip the top card face up beside it to start the discard pile.
- Before play begins, each player chooses any two of their own six cards and turns them face up. The rest stay face down and unseen.
Your turn
- Draw the top card from either the draw pile or the discard pile.
- Swap it for any one of your 6 cards, placing the old card face up on the discard pile — or discard the drawn card and flip one of your own cards face up instead.
- Play passes to the left.
Scoring
Add up your 6 cards using the values below. If both cards in a column match, that column scores 0.
Ace 1
2–10 face value
Jack 0
Queen 13
King 1
Joker −2
If your four corner cards all match, or both cards in each row match (both rows are pairs), subtract 25 points from your total for that round.
Ending a round
- Once a player has all 6 of their cards face up, every other player gets exactly one more turn.
- All hands are then revealed and scored for the round.
Winning
Play 9 rounds, entering each round's score in the scorecard. After the final round, the player with the lowest total wins.
